About this Program
IGNOU's B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (ODL) is a three-year open-and-distance-learning undergraduate degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University — India's largest public university — newly launched to address India's growing demand for AI and ML talent at an accessible, government-subsidised fee. The programme covers Python programming, machine learning algorithms, deep learning and neural networks, data preprocessing and visualisation, natural language processing, computer vision, and AI ethics, structured across six semesters. IGNOU's ODL model combines printed study materials, online resources, and regional study centre support, making it one of the most affordable AI/ML degrees in India. Fees and eligibility are published on IGNOU's Samarth portal. Graduates are equipped for entry-level data analyst, ML engineer assistant, AI developer, and research assistant roles, or may pursue M.Sc. AIML or MCA for advanced positions.
